Happy Anniversarish!

So, the story of us is that we got together on October 7th, buttttt then we took some time off and we weren't officially "on" again until February 15th.  We mostly celebrate in October, so this is sort of an extra anniversary, or an "anniversarish" (plus it's easier to celebrate Valentine's Day a day late -- you can actually get restaurant reservations and Valentine's day candy is half-priced!).

Moving on.

The day began with flowers...
He got me tulips last year too :-)
Then, I was instructed to meet downtown at 1:30 for a surprise lunch!  Shane met me at the BART station with a town car (Shane is really fancy... and also in touch with the latest technologies so he can discover things like Uber -- additional blog post on this soon)...
I'm UBER excited -- hah!
Much to my surprise, Shane took me to Top of the Mark! Someone was just recently telling us about it and how they have the best views of the city and it did not disappoint...
More photos later...
We enjoyed a nice lunch, then took Uber back to the BART station (and Shane back to work).

For dinner, I set a beautiful table...

We began the meal with a caprese salad with the best heirloom tomatoes we've had in a long time (such a bummer when they're not in season)...

Then we had steak and mashed potatoes (my faaaaaaaaaaave) and for dessert, I made chocolate covered strawberries....

Happy Anniversarish to us!!!

Happy Thursday!

After making Shane his daily fruit salad to take to work....

I decided to head out to explore the San Francisco Arts Market that I found whilst googling yesterday! It was much smaller than I expected, but it got me out of the house and exploring for a bit, so it certainly wasn't a wasted trip!

After the market, I decided to wander the area.  The market is located in the UN Plaza which is not a particularly attractive area, but there are a few artsy parts...

I also walked by the old San Francisco Mint!

Finally, I decided I needed a lunch stop so I found a sushi restaurant with great ratings on Yelp and had a couple rolls and some soup! Yum!

I realized I had been gone for a few hours and Archie could probably use a potty break so I headed back home.  We went on a little walk and then came home and took a nap...

Happy Thursday!

Weird and Random San Fran Stuff

So that's pretty much it for the interesting photos of San Francisco.  What I have left now are the random weird things I photographed.  Ta-dah!!!

Not weird really, I just haven't seen an electric car before

So charming!
Thriller?
Who left these? And why?
Gorgeous!
Reminds me of Austin's Cathedral of Junk

Yes, that is a PeeWee Herman doll

Alamo Square & The Painted Ladies

Alamo Square is a residential neighborhood and park which consists of four city blocks at the top of a hill overlooking much of San Francisco.  A row of Victorian houses on Steiner Street, known as the "Painted Ladies", overlook Alamo Square Park. The houses were built between 1892 and 1896.

I am the master of self-timer photos

P.S. Much of the intro to Full House took place in this park!
P.P.S. Whatever happened to predictability?

San Francisco City Hall

This afternoon, Shane and I wandered the city! I took a jillion photos and saw so many beautiful sights.  There's no real story to go along with the wandering -- we just wandered :-)  For the next few days I'll be posting some of the photos.  San Francisco City Hall is first! Enjoy!!

Bizarro trees lining the courtyard
They're actually just pruned back Sycamores, but they do look bizarre

The Golden Coast

One day last week while I was out running errands, I decided to make a quick pit stop to the beach (its about darn time, considering we live just 2 short miles away)! It was already 5:00'ish by the time I got there, so it was fairly dark, but there were still plenty of people around, most of whom had dogs with them (yay! a fun place to bring Archie!).  I only walked around for a few minutes to snap some photos, but I'm really excited to take Archie there the next time the sun decides to come out!
