Happy Birthday to Archie!

Today is Archie's birthday and this year he turns 2! That's 14 in human years! My, how time flies....

I feel like just yesterday, he was this small:

And now he's all grown up: 20 pounds heavier, living in San Francisco, and howling to his heart's content!

Happy Birthday to our precious baby boy :-)

THE SF GIANTS SWEPT THE WORLD SERIES!

Perhaps you've heard?

Obviously, the entire fam was ecstatic:

Some San Franciscans got a little too excited.

Anyways, the news of their big win is many days old now, but today was the homecoming parade for our champs and yes, the entire city was there...

Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi!
Willie Mays (blurry)!
Giants mascot!
UC Berkeley Marching Band!
The World Series trophy with Giants manager, Bruce Bochy!
And finally, the players come escorted by the SF Segway Tour Company!
Tim Lincecum
World Series MVP (and his trophy), Pablo Sandoval (aka Panda)!
How sweep it is!

Cedar Point

Shane and I spent the last week in Shane's hometown of Toledo, Ohio. We had a great time seeing and catching up with everyone.  The most noteworthy parts of our trip were Shane's sister Kristen's graduation party (woo hoo! so proud of you!), Shane's nephew and godson Nico's baptism, and a trip to Cedar Point with Shane's Dad, sister Lily and sister's boyfriend Josh.

If you're not familiar with Cedar Point, then you're probably neither a native of the midwest nor a roller coaster enthusiast.  Cedar Point has been named the Best Amusement Park in the World for 14 years running.  There's nothing else I can say to do justice to how awesome their rides are, but I encourage you to at least watch this video of my favorite rollercoaster, the Millenium Force...

God I love roller coasters.

Take me out to the ballgame!

Everyone was talking about the Giants this week after Matt Cain threw a perfect game against the Houston Astros. You may, however, have missed this bit of excitement at that same game:

San Francisco is so cool :-)

On a related note, Shane and I took our friend Buck (a friend from Sarasota who has recently relocated to the Bay Area!) to a Giants game last Sunday. The game was a total snoozer (Giants didn't get a single run, and the game was over in less than 3 hours...), but we got more than enough enjoyment from the great weather and the AMAZING views of the bay (not to mention the ballpark hotdog). Here's a few photos from our outing...

There were over 42,000 fans at the stadium that day!

Happy Birthday, Golden Gate!

The Golden Gate Bridge is an American icon and San Francisco's most famous landmark.  The bridge first opened on May 27, 1937 which means that yesterday marked it's 75th anniversary!  Shane and I celebrated in Ghirardelli Square as we watched the most amazing fireworks show either of us have ever seen.  It was magic.  None of the photos I took turned out very well, so I'm including a video from the internet, which still doesn't truly do it justice... Enjoy!

Crazies on the BART

As I've mentioned before, Shane and I ride the BART to and from work everyday.  Being such regulars, we both really feel like we've seen it all.  Oh, the stories we could tell -- the smelly folks we've smelled, the crazy rantings we've heard, etc.  I've been trying to collect photos of strange stuff I see on the BART (which is surprisingly difficult -- the crazies tend to sense when they're being photographed), and so far I only have 1 interesting photo.  But Shane came to the rescue with this video he took this morning of an interesting individual he was seated near.  I give you, the crazies on the BART:

Napping puppy

I couldn't figure out how to crop this video shorter, since it was on my iPhone so you'll have to ignore our messy house (and it also gets boring after the first 30 seconds), but Archie was making the funniest noise the other day while napping and I just had to share :)

Turn up your volume and enjoy!
